Gerri Lundergan teaches using the structured fourteen-step method for opal cutting she learned from Sarah Lee Boyce at William Holland – Sarah created this method over years of working with opal. Opal rough can be very unforgiving, and the play of color needs to be released very slowly.
Students will learn why Opal is called “The Thinking Man’s Stone, how to assess and work To The Color.
Opals are taught by appointment only and you must have taken lapidary to attend this class.
